Athletes of the Month

Each month MD recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate team work, drive,
determination & outstanding contribution to Mustangs Athletics.

Congratulations to November Athletes of the Month!

Rylie Kirk (Jr Basketball)

Rylie was a great leader for the Jr Girls Basketball team on and off the court. She played most, if not all of each game & usually at point guard, which is not her regular position. Rylie was also one of the team’s leading scorers. Her hard work, enthusiasm & dedication helped the team to their almost perfect 9-1 1st place regular season record, a semifinal win over M. M. Robinson, & a close loss in the Halton Championship vs. White Oaks 42-40! We look forward to her moving on to the Mustangs’ senior team next year. Congratulations Rylie on a fantastic season!

Arandjel Dimitrijevic (Jr Volleyball)

Arandjel was a steady leadership presence on the starting line up for the junior boys volleyball team all season long. Along with his ability to play all positions, his overall composure, daily determination and infectious focus he helped his team make a run to the Halton finals and gave them a shot at winning the gold medal. Congratulations to him and all his teammates on their silver medal and a great overall season for the junior boys volleyball team.

Will Merwin (Junior Football)

As a grade 9 starting Quarterback Will Merwin had a  lot of work cut out for him this past Jr football season.  As the season progressed he developed into a very serious passing and rushing threat for opponents in tier 1 football.  In the last game of the season against the 2nd ranked MM Robinson team, Will stepped it up. Despite suffering a broken hand in the first quarter, Will played the entire game throwing over 260 yards to 6 different players.  This season’s success shows a great deal of promise for the Jr football team and the program in years to come.

Justin Palmer (Swimming)

After a 2 year battle Justin Palmer was successful and broke 30 sec for his 50 metre butterfly. A personal goal that he has worked towards for a long time. Great job Justin - OFSAA qualifying time! We look forward to watching Justin compete throughout the rest of the season and hope to see him representing Milton District at OFSAA again this year.
