Athletes of the Month

Each month we recognize student athletes who demonstrate team work, drive,
determination & outstanding contribution to sports life at MD.

Congratulations to January Athletes of the month!

Hassan Minhas (Jr Basketball)

As a grade 10 point guard, Hassan has taken a leadership role for the team this year. He is committed to the team’s success, attending every practice, and has been helpful to grade 9 players. He adds to the team’s offense with his driving skills, drawing important fouls. The team is currently in 3rd place (6-2) going into the exam break, with an important game at the beginning of February against White Oaks before playoffs. Good luck Hassan during playoffs & defending last year’s Halton Championship!

Dan Duggan (Varsity Hockey)

Dan has been the hockey team’s most consistent player all season. His work ethic & enthusiasm for the game is second to none, and his leadership has been a huge part of the team’s success this year. Dan has scored points in almost every game this season, and most recently scored a hat trick in the final game before the exam break against Aldershot. Looking forward to this key performer’s playoff run in his final season as a Mustang.

Alysse Macdonnell (Jr Volleyball)

January proved to be a challenging month of regular season play against some very strong opponents. Alysse consistently attended practices & games, confident & prepared to compete. Her tough serving & committed defense has kept opponents on their toes, and she compliments this with a powerful swing. Even though she is in grade 9, Alysse will often take on a leadership role by encouraging her teammates & providing insight into the gaps she sees on the opponent's court. Alysse's hardworking & relentless attitude make her a prime example of what being a Mustang really is. Congratulations on making the Milton Champion newspaper last week too!

Cady Bishop (Sr Volleyball)

Passionate, fierce competitor, highly talented and born to lead! Cady embodies all of these traits in spades!. At the start of the season she developed as a swinger, but now she takes charge from the front as a setter. An extremely difficult transition, but with the whole team behind her and growing daily confidence, she has excelled. Congratulations Cady!
