At Milton, we strive to build key skills in our students that will ensure their success both in high school and in post-secondary destinations.  Our Wilderness North program is designed for our entire Gr. 10 population to build their communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential to academic success.
As part of the Wilderness North experience, our students learn these skills outside a traditional classroom setting.  Students spend four days at Camp Wanakita.  Activities include canoeing, kayaking, ropes courses, evening campfires, and swimming to name a few.  Most importantly our students build a strong sense of community and helps to build better classrooms and stronger feelings of belonging and inclusiveness in the hallways for the remainder of their high school experience.

Camp runs in the middle of September each year.  The cost of the trip, which includes transportation to and from MDHS to Camp Wanakita in Haliburton, Ontario meals, accommodations, all activities, and a t-shirt is $410.00 per student.  NO additional money is required and no spending money is needed on the trip.

Permission forms are generally required before the end of May for the following September.

Payments for the trip may be made via School Cash Online.
