Parent Involvement Committee (PIC)

Education is a partnership involving students, parents, teachers, principals, trustees, school boards, government, and the community.  As a member of a Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) you have an opportunity to strengthen this partnership and become part of a dedicated team committed to helping every student achieve.  Parents ARE making a difference!

The HDSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is pleased to be hosting the  
10th Annual Parent Engagement Conference 
on Saturday, October 14, 2017 
at Craig Kielburger Secondary School
This event is planned for parents, by parents and is made possible by the 
Ontario Ministry of Education's Parents Reaching Out Grant.

This year's theme is 21st Century Student Success:  Creating a Culture of Equity, Inclusion and Well-Being.    This year's keynote speaker will be Candy Palmater,  Canadian activist, comedian and award winning TV and CBC Radio personality.  She will be speaking to her book The Road Less Travelled.

Over 30 workshops are available for conference attendees to participate and attend dealing with topics ranging from Digital Citizenship in schools, Mental Math and Number Talks, planning for post-secondary education, and more.  You will come away from the workshop feeling empowered about yourself and your children's education.
