Commencement

The Commencement event for the 2018-2019 school year will be held at the Velodrome on Thursday, June 27th, 2019
The Grad fee of $55.00 helps to cover the cost of the venue, stage, chair  & sound system rental at the Velodrome, gowns & caps (which students will keep),  the annual Grad Breakfast and other incidentals to put this event together for our graduating class.  The fee is available on School Cash Online - please pay this fee so we can cover the cost of the event.  Thank you!  Commencement Gowns & Caps will be available for pick-up June 20th - 26th in the Main Office.

Commencement Parking & Marshaling

New this year, parking is not permitted at the Velodrome, with the exception of guests requiring handicap parking spots.  This year, the Velodrome has made arrangements with the Milton Sports Centre, 605 Santa Maria Blvd, Pool Entrance, to have shuttle buses transporting you and your guests to the Velodrome for our Commencement ceremony.  Shuttle buses will be available prior to the ceremony from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm and afterwards from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Grads are expected to arrive promptly at 6:15 pm in their gown and cap for marshaling.  Gowns and caps will be available for Grads to pick up from the main office during the exam period.  While students are being marshaled, parents are more than welcome to choose their seats and enjoy some light refreshments before the ceremony begins.  Official diplomas, certificates and the Grad composite (if purchased through Edge Imaging) will be available for parents to pick up prior to the ceremony as parents arrive at the venue.

HDSB Email Data Transfer
Graduating & Non-Returning Students

As of July 1, 2019 students who are not:

  • actively registered with HDSB (Summer School), or

  • Pre-Registered for the 2019-2020 School Year with HDSB

will lose access to the HDSB Network & Halton Cloud / G Suite for Education applications data, and email.

If students have used their HDSB email when applying for post secondary, resume, job applications, those students will need to update their information and change it to a personal email address before access to the HDSB account is lost on July 1st.

To retain Gsuite data, please choose one of the options below:

  • Transfer email and Drive files to a personal Google Account using Google Takeout Transfer Your Content - see Transfer their content

  • Archive data using Google Takeout - The traditional Takeout is also available to create an archive of their data in G suite.

This will enable students to easily retain email, essays, resumes, science projects and any other files stored on Google Drive before access to the HDSB account is removed.  Students must choose one of these options and complete the steps by June 30, 2019.
