December Athletes of the Month

Devin Doobay - Bantam Boys Basketball

Devon has had a great start to the bantam boys basketball season. He has shown great heart and hustle as a starter in our first few opening games of the season. As our point guard he has stepped up and been a leader on and off the court. His calm disposition and intense defense on the court has made him a key player on our team. Keep up the great work Devon!

Travis Houle - Jr. Boys Basketball

Travis has been a beast in the middle for the Jr Boys Basketball team. Leading the team in rebounds and blocks, Travis is an aggressive defender who makes it difficult for offensive players to maneuver and score in the paint. His offensive contributions are just as impressive. He leads the team in offensive rebounds, points in the paint, free throw percentage.

Zoe Tsiapalis - Sr. Girls Volleyball

From the beginning of the season, Zoe has been an incredible team player both on and off the court. She has an incredible ability to read the ball and she will do anything within her power to keep the ball from hitting the floor. Zoe is leading the team in serves and has helped to stabilize the serve receive and defense for the team. She constantly demonstrates hard work and dedication at practices and encourages her teammates to be engaged and energetic. Zoe's positivity is contagious and makes her exactly the type of student-athlete we are proud to call a Mustang.

Alex Bakk - Jr. Girls Volleyball

Alex has been an essential member to the Jr. Girls Volleyball team as she is always positive whether supporting her teammates on the court or making jokes off the court; she communicates all the time about types of serves coming over the net, who she is setting to, or if the setter is out. If a bad play has occurred, Alex's strategy is to make a face and get right back in the game. She doesn't let a missed point get her down. Overall, Alex's positive attitude is what makes her a pivotal member to the volleyball team and an example of Mustang spirit.

Brother Duo: Pamu & Shahiru Perera - Swimming

They work hard at all practices and give it their all at the meets. Pamu broke the long fought for 30 sec barrier for his 50 free and Shahiru came within a hundredth of a second of beating his brother. Both boys show great dedication. Pamu organized to swim a race, run back to school to get his grad pictures taken and be back in time for his next race. The boys dedication, leadership, athleticism and kindness are appreciated we are glad to have them as part of the team. Go Mustangs!
