Wilderness North

At Milton District we live our values of Belong, Elevate, Respect and we strive to build key skills in our students that will ensure their success both in high school and in their chosen post secondary destinations.

Our Wilderness North program includes ALL of our Grade 10 students, a large number of staff and a select number of Grade 12 student leaders. The experience focuses on building skills in communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving, which are essential in all aspects of life including academic success. Wilderness North reinforces the building of these skills in an interactive environment outside the traditional classroom. Through highly organized and staff supervised events such as ropes courses, hiking, archery, campfire, canoeing, kayaking and team activities, students will build their skills, confidence and relationships. There is something for all levels, abilities and interests for swimmers and non-swimmers alike.

Grade 10 tends to be a challenging year for students. This trip is designed to foster belonging and inclusiveness and to build a strong community of students and staff who will continue to support one another in the classrooms and hallways of the school for the remainder of their high school years.
