Memories from the 1950's

In 1951, the Milton High School Rugby Team was crowned the North Halton Champions.

In 1953, further additions were made to the school - two classrooms and the addition of a new Library classroom on the north wing.

The year 1954 witnessed the largest Graduating Class in the history of Milton High School!!  J.E. Marcellus also retired after serving 25 years as Principal.  Mr. Cecil Wood became Principal for the next three years.

In 1956 the Student Council & the Athletic Society sponsored dances at the school - Sadie Hawkins, Christmas, Valentine's Day & a formal Cinderella Ball.  That year, the Rugby Team won the Ross Trophy.

Valedictorians in the 50s:  Helen Heslop, Joe Thompson, Ted Bounsall, Ken Elsley, Norman Bird, Catherine Elliot, Ross Sinclair, Arthur Coulbeck, Manfred von Nostitz, Marjorie Dolby.

Miss Milton High School included Faye Thomas, Marlene White & Marjorie Dolby.
